This piston is .140" over the standard bore on a Flathead Briggs & Stratton 5 HP engine. The piston has a .640 compression height and uses a .490" wrist pin. Includes piston, rings, wrist pin, and circlips. This piston is approximately .004" larger than the standard bore on a Briggs Animal engine and is the base piston used with either our 6240 Animal stroker rod or our 6248 Animal stock-stroke, long rod.
This is a thick dome piston that is designed to be cut down to your deck height. Either the long rod or the stroker setup with this piston is easier on the engine because it reduces the severe stock rod angle and lightens the reciprocating mass. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THE #6522 HEAVY DUTY WRIST PIN WITH THIS PISTON WHENEVER IT IS BEING USED IN AN OHV ENGINE.
